San Diego’s DUI Sheriff’s Department’s enforcement team & the California AVOID DUI Task Force assisted UCSD Police Department with their annual Sun God Festival on Friday, May 17th, from 3:00 PM to 12 PM.
San Diego California’s AVOID DUI Task Force was asked to provide San Diego California DUI Saturation Patrols in and around the UCSD campus, during the Sun God Festival.
From 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM, May 18, 2013, Deputies and Police Officers from UCSD Police
Department, SDSU Police Department, Coronado Police Department and San Diego Police Department conducted 114 traffic stops and 21 San Diego California DUI field sobriety tests.
Contacts resulted in 3 San Diego California DUI arrests. The stated purpose of the San Diego California DUI saturation patrol was to make the roadways in San Diego County safer by removing drivers who are impaired. The San Diego California drunk driving operation was funded by a San Diego California DUI grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
