San Diego DUI checkpoints hit fairly hard this weekend in both East Village Downtown and Imperial Beach, resulting in twelve Drunk Driving arrests, lawyers say.
The key checkpoint here is the downtown one which catches drivers leaving San Diego’s Gaslamp district, attorneys say. That is at 1400 G Street from 11 pm Friday May 17 until Saturday at 3 a.m. Over two thousand vehicles were trapped, eight hundred were screened and thirty drivers detailed for San Diego California DUI evaluations. Ten arrests were made say San Diego DUI attorneys.
In Imperial Beach Friday night from 8:30 to 2:30 at 900 Palm Ave., nine hundred vehicles were trapped but only two were arrested out of the thirty evaluated, San Diego DUI lawyers say. Lots were cited for no valid CA driver’s license, California attorneys say. Those sections are Vehicle Code sections 14601.2, 14601 et. seq. and 12500.
