Horseracing Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith entered a not guilty plea to San Diego DUI charges and continued the case until October 14th, following his drunk driving arrest hours after winning the opening-day stakes race at Del Mar.
His DUI criminal defense attorney entered the not guilty plea as can be done in California misdemeanor cases. Mike raced Del Mar today in Race Number 5 on Highly Composed.
Smith remains jockeying out of custody on ,500 bail.
Smith has won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness and Belmont during his career.
