San Diego DUI cops are getting what they’ve been waiting for. A chance to get a promotion or increased pay resulting from the most drunk driving arrests contest, DUI attorneys are told.
Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), San Diego annually honors San Diego DUI officers—including one from the district overseeing Rancho Bernardo and Rancho Peñasquitos—for their work in arrest drunk drivers, lawyers say.
Eleven officers are also receiving the 2011 Century Award for netting a hundred DUI arrests or more.
Thirty-three San Diego county DUI officers being recognized as Outstanding DUI Officers of the Year, eleven are from the San Diego Police Department.
Officer Charles De La Cruz is from the Northeastern Division which includes RB and PQ.
The winners will be honored at a Wednesday ceremony at the Town and Country Resort.
