Warrant Warning!
“Saturday Sweep” San Diego DUI attorneys call it. That’s when DUI probationers are picked up by the Sheriff’s Department, San Diego California DUI lawyers remind.
March 1, 2014 saw San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Court Services Bureau-Field Division stage a warrant sweep in the San Diego region.
The operation’s purpose was on the apprehension of suspects with outstanding misdemeanor and felony warrants including San Diego California DUI warrants.
30 adults were arrested on misdemeanor warrants and 1 adult was arrested for a felony warrant. 36 misdemeanor warrants and one felony warrant were cleared. The warrant charges included: San Diego California DUI, driving on a suspended license, domestic violence, vandalism, narcotics and petty theft. The San Diego California deputies went to 75 residences.
This warrant sweep was funded by the Sheriff’s Warrant System Automation Trust Fund. The trust fund is made up of assessment fees collected from people who have violated a written promise to appear in court or otherwise failed to comply with a court order including San Diego California Drunk Driving court orders.
The areas affected by the sweep included downtown, the greater San Diego area and North San Diego County communities.
The San Diego Sheriff’s Department will continue its efforts in the apprehension of wanted subjects. Persons who have outstanding San Diego California DUI warrants are encouraged to turn themselves in Monday – Friday between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM at any one of the Sheriff’s Court Facilities.
