San Diego Sheriff’s Deputies and Officers from Coronado Police Department, Escondido Police Department, San Diego Harbor Police Department, San Diego County Probation Department, and the San Diego Police Department, as part of the overkilling AVOID the 16 Taskforce, staged a DUI checkpoint at a strange location, 1800 Olivenhain Road in Encinitas on Friday, May 23, 2014 from 8:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., San Diego DUI lawyers report today.
A total of 2,113 vehicles approached the San Diego DUI checkpoint: 942 vehicles passed through the primary screening area of the checkpoint; and, 63 vehicles were directed to the secondary screening area for further investigation, San Diego DUI attorneys are told.
Only 3 drivers were evaluated for being under the influence and just 1 driver was arrested for DUI – Alcohol.
1 DUI arrest was at College Avenue and Adams Street, Oceanside from 9:45 to 2:30 a.m.
No arrests for DUI were made at the 2600 Highland, National City DUI checkpoint.

On 05/23/2014 at 6 pm, San Diego DUI deputies from the San Marcos Traffic Unit conducted a D.U.I checkpoint in the city of San Marcos. The San Diego DUI checkpoint was set up in the 100 block of West Mission Road, resulting in 5 arrests.
We’re told San Diego DUI Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for contacting impaired drivers and provide the maximum safety for deputies and the public. But what happened?
Why were all these cops doing this and not patrolling the roads?!
The stated public purpose of these San Diego DUI checkpoints was to try to remove impaired and/or unlicensed drivers from the roadway, public education, and deterrence to increase the safety of all drivers.
The real purpose may be to make overtime money while hanging out with buddies drinking coffee & eating unhealthy donuts?
